Learning, Evolved

A carefully designed curriculum that balances academic rigor
with creativity, critical thinking, and real-world skills.

Excellence in Education

Curriculum Overview

At Westfield International School, academics are built on a strong foundation of conceptual clarity, curiosity-driven exploration, and holistic development. Our curriculum is structured to meet international standards while staying deeply rooted in age-appropriate learning needs. Every subject is taught through meaningful connections, hands-on experiences, and inquiry-led discussions that help students understand not just what to learn, but why it matters.

We blend classroom learning with real-world applications—allowing students to research, collaborate, experiment, and think independently. With a balanced emphasis on academics, communication skills, digital literacy, values education, and co-curricular activities, Westfield ensures that every child grows into a confident, well-rounded, future-ready learner.

Progression

Academic Levels

Pre-Primary (Nursery – KG)

Early childhood is a time of wonder and rapid growth, and at Westfield, our Pre-Primary program offers a warm, joyful, and secure environment where young learners explore through play, imagination, and guided activities. With activity-based lessons, storytelling, music, movement, and hands-on experiences, children develop foundational skills in language, numeracy, social interaction, and motor development at their own pace. Supported by trained educators who nurture creativity, communication, emotional well-being, and independence, every child builds confidence and a positive, lifelong relationship with learning.

Primary School (Grades 1 – 5)

The primary school years at Westfield lay the foundation for academic confidence, critical thinking, and values-based learning. Our Grades 1–5 program strengthens literacy, numeracy, and real-world application through hands-on projects, group activities, experiments, and guided discussions. With differentiated teaching strategies to improve diverse learning styles, students can build communication, problem-solving, creativity, empathy, and digital awareness, emerging as balanced, confident, and proactive learners.

Middle School (Grades 6 – 8)

The Middle School programme at Westfield International School is designed to support students during a critical stage of intellectual, emotional, and practical development. In alignment with national education reforms and evolving academic standards, learning in Grades 6–8 places strong emphasis on experiential, skill-based education alongside core academic subjects.

A significant component of this stage is the introduction of structured skill education, where students engage in practical learning through the Kaushal Bodh framework. This programme is designed to help students understand real-world applications across three key domains:

Life & Nature, including activities related to gardening, food awareness, and environmental understanding

Materials & Machines, covering basic tools, crafts, models, and mechanical concepts

Human Services, focusing on community engagement, empathy, teamwork, and social responsibility

Learning is not limited to theoretical instruction. Students participate in regular, timetable-based practical sessions, with skill education scheduled as mandatory classes during the school week. These sessions involve demonstrations, tool-based work, outdoor activities, and guided project execution.

Each academic year, students complete three structured projects, one from each skill domain. Over the three-year Middle School phase, this results in nine hands-on projects, ensuring broad exposure and progressive skill development. Projects are designed to encourage creativity, logical thinking, and real-world problem-solving.

Students also engage in extended practical hours, allowing them to work deeply on projects rather than rushing through activities. This sustained engagement helps build confidence, independence, and a sense of ownership over learning outcomes.

Through this balanced approach, Middle School students develop essential life skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, responsibility, and practical competence. The programme prepares learners not only for academic advancement but also for real-life challenges, supporting a smooth transition into higher grades and future learning pathways.

Our Approach

Teaching Methodology

Activity-Based Learning

Students learn through structured activities, explorations, and creative tasks that make concepts easy to understand and apply. Learning becomes engaging, meaningful, and naturally enjoyable.

Hands-On Experience

Experiments, models, demonstrations, and real-life simulations help children experience concepts rather than just hear about them. Such can improve deeper understanding and long-term retention.

Confidence Building

Supportive classrooms, personalized guidance, presentations, and peer interactions help students develop strong self-belief. Every child is encouraged to express, participate, and grow confidently.

Critical Thinking Approach

Students are guided to question, analyze, compare, and reason independently. This nurtures problem-solving skills and helps them see connections beyond the textbook..
